Fun, fun, fun!!
Wednesday was a very busy, fun day. Here are some pictures!
First we went to a major-league baseball game with some friends of ours. We watched the Milwaukee Brewers lose 9-3 to the Atlanta Braves.

Oh, I miss Square Dancing!! The little girls are SO cute in the picture at the Brewers game!! Is that Anja on your Dad's lap?? She is HUGE!! Getting so big!!! And you older girls look so cute together!

I don't know a lot of square dancing steps except the basic ones, so pardon my ignorance, but what does "plus" mean?
BTW, I just made two skirts in the last 14 hours! :-) FUN! They turned out so good, and I can't wait to wear one to church tomorrow! :-)
Well, the first level of square dancing people learn is called "mainstream" and there are about 70 moves. Then, there is "plus", which is another 30 moves or so that are made of anywhere from 2-5 mainstream moves put together. At a plus dance a caller will call both mainstream and plus moves. But at a regular dance it's just mainstream moves. Plus is more difficult, but in my opinion it is very fun!!
Oh, don't you just LOVE new skirts?? I made one in about 2 hours last Sunday because I wanted a new dancing skirt (well, I use it for things besides dancing) before a big dance we had that Monday. What pattern do you use? I would love to see pictures of your new skirts! I love how you can get a "new wardrobe" just by making a new skirt!! Plus, it's SO HARD to find good skirts these days, I have no idea what I'd wear, if I didn't make my own!!
I use two favorite patterns for all my skirts:

simple, elegant, a-line
I love modifying the fullness of the Simplicity one! I just decide beforehand how full I want it, and it is so easy to change!
I've made three new skirts in the last week, and I feel like I have tons of new clothes! :-) So many new possibilites!
I looked up the patterns you use, and the two I use are almost exactly the same as yours! The pattern I use for the gourd (flare) skirt uses 8 panels, and is no longer in print! The a-line skirt is similar, I think I got mine from McCalls. I guess we have similar tastes!
