Quick update

I hadn't realized how long it's been since I've blogged! Lately we've been busy with school, play practice, and everyday life!!

The most exciting news is that my friend from Kansas, Elizabeth, is coming for a visit!! She is coming on Thursday and staying till Sunday. I am SOOOO excited and can't wait! The last time I saw her was last October!

On Thursday those who were learning how to square dance graduated, so now my sister Emmy is officially a square-dancer!! She is very excited. She actually went to her first square dance last Friday and had a BLAST!

Our play performances are quickly approaching - about 2 1/2 weeks until our first performance! The time has gone by SO quickly. I'm getting scared that I'll forget my lines - I have them down good until I get on stage and then can't remember them! But the more I practice them the easier it'll be to remember them.

Love,
Aliisa

East Troy Bluegrass Festival

On Sunday I went to the East Troy Bluegrass Festival with some friends. There were some great bands, and some not-so-great bands, but I had a great time!

The band for the Sunday morning "service"

On Eagle's Wings

Mr. Lorenz

Mrs. Lorenz

Noah Siegmann & Dan Marquardt (friends of ours)

Again, Noah & Dan

There were banjo, mandolin and guitar contests that afternoon and there were some really great contestants!!

Dan in the banjo contest, with Nate accompanying him

Noah in the guitar contest

Noah in the mandolin contest with Dan accompanying him

The contest results were: Banjo - Noah got 2nd and Dan got 3rd
Guitar - Noah got 3rd and Dan got 2nd
Mandolin - Noah got 2nd
There was something weird about the results, though, because Dan is a better banjo player than Noah and we think he should've gotten first place. Noah is a better guitar player than Dan, and again, we think he should've gotten first!! Could just be that we're biased . . . . . but I honestly don't think so!

The Siegmann Family Band

good friends of ours

The whole family

Mr. Siemann

Mrs. Siemann

Nate, Libby, Mr. S, Noah & Sammy

Dana & Manda

Manda, Jed & Lincoln

Nate - his wife, Ashely, usually sings with the band but their 2nd baby (1st boy) was only a day an a half old and she was home resting!!

The featured band of the day was JD Crow & The New South
They were EXCELLENT!!!

The band

. . . . and the band again!

JD Crowe

Their fiddler was SO GOOD!!!!!
